Cecily Mitchell
Therapy for Families, Adoption, and Relationships
Many clients I work with feel misunderstood or disconnected, longing for closeness but struggling to find it. My role is to walk alongside you and help you move from simply surviving to truly thriving in your relationships.
Since 2012, I have guided individuals and families toward healing. My background ranges from residential treatment to school counseling, giving me the practical tools to support you in diverse situations.
I specialize in navigating developmental trauma, adoption complexities, and helping families untangle difficult dynamics. I use advanced training in Brainspotting, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, and the Safe and Sound Protocol to support your growth. I hold a Master’s in Counseling from UMKC and a Bachelor’s from Drury University.
Together, we will create a manageable plan that addresses both current stressors and deeper patterns. My goal is to help you live a life that feels authentic and worth celebrating.

You already have what it takes.
Therapy doesn’t give you something you’re missing. It helps you uncover what’s already there: strength, clarity, courage. And we’ll walk with you as you find it.
